Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s planned headquarters move to Houston may not result in thousands — or even hundreds — of new jobs, but it could be a catalyst that drives more companies to the region.
“This is terrific news for Houston,” said Mark Taylor, senior managing director in Houston for CBRE, a commercial real estate firm. “Texas has benefited from great migration numbers from other states for several years. We see that accelerating.”
HPE announced Tuesday that it would move its headquarters to the Spring area, where it is building a new campus for its local operations, from San Jose, Calif. This region already represents the company’s largest U.S. employment hub.
