City Place, the master-planned community formerly known as Springwoods Village, is moving forward with plans for a major residential addition.
Site preparation recently began for the first phase of the 400-acre residential project, City Place developer CDC Houston, a subsidiary of New York-based Coventry Development Corp., announced May 3. As previously announced, CDC Houston is working with Scottsdale, Arizona-based DMB Development on the residential project.
The initial phase will lay the groundwork for the westward extension of East Mossy Oaks Road through City Place and deliver about 520 single-family units across 160 acres. Phase 1 homebuilders are expected to be announced this summer, followed by residential product types and amenities revealed in late 2022.
Low-impact development continues to be a top priority for CDC Houston, and the project will utilize and maintain strategic tree buffer zones as well as save native trees for relocation, according to the developer.
