Avalanche Food Group is set to open its first Bread Zeppelin Salads Elevated in North Houston’s Cityplace District

Avalanche Food Group is set to open its first Bread Zeppelin Salads Elevated in North Houston’s Cityplace District

October 2, 2019

CityPlace, a best-in-class urban mixed-use district anchoring Springwoods Village, is excited to announce the planned opening of a unique Dallas-based fast casual restaurant concept. The north Houston home of ExxonMobil, Hewlett Packard, Southwestern Energy and American Bureau of Shipping will soon welcome Avalanche Food Group’s first franchise location of Bread Zeppelin Salads Elevated.

Avalanche Food Group (AFG), represented by Alan Chodrow and Shane Karstendiek of Chodrow Realty Advisors, is excited to bring the wildly popular restaurant chain – which currently has six locations in the DFW area – to Houston. AFG has leased an 1,872-square-foot ground floor retail space in CityPlace 1 and anticipates a spring 2020 debut. CityPlace, a joint venture of Patrinely Group, USAA Real Estate and CDC Houston, was represented by Nick Hernandez and Crystal Allen of Transwestern, along with Dennis Tarro of Patrinely Group.

“The introduction of Bread Zeppelin’s standout, specialty concept of elevated salads to the Houston market is an ideal fit with the innovative vision of CityPlace,” said Ricky Rosa, COO of Avalanche Food Group. “We are thrilled to be one of the first tenants of such a dynamic community and look forward to serving and working with guests from the area.”

Founded in 2009 by brothers, John, Joe and Ricky Rosa, Avalanche Food Group (AFG) was created as a family business with a mission to create memorable experiences through its commitment to exceptional service. For customers, AFG consistently provides hospitable and quality service that exceeds industry standards. For employees and partners, AFG establishes loyal and long-lasting relationships built on a foundation of respect and accountability. For their communities, AFG develops and executes innovative programs and services throughout the year. This commitment was recognized when AFG was awarded the Franchisee of the Year Award in 2011 from the International Franchise Association and by the Twin Peaks organization in 2018.

“When my high school friend Andrew [Schoellkopf] and I came up the novel idea for the Zeppelin in 2010, we never anticipated such an incredible reception to the brand and the trajectory of our business,” said co-founder of Bread Zeppelin, Troy Charhon. “We are honored to be partnering with Avalanche Food Group as one of the early adopters within the remarkable environment at CityPlace, and thrilled to be starting our franchise expansion in Houston”

Bread Zeppelin guests can choose from an array of ingredients offered in a bowl or their signature “Zeppelin”, a cored-out, fresh-baked artisan baguette. This unique twist creates a tasty alternative to the often messy wraps that easily fall apart. Fans tout their obsession with the combination of flavors and textures.

The menu includes 12 Signature Items including the Metro Cobb with herb grilled chicken, avocado, crumbled eggs, bleu cheese, bacon, tomatoes, romaine and iceberg; the Lonestar brimming with grilled flank steak, avocado, tomatoes, fried onion, jalapenos and iceberg; the Shanghai with a choice of chicken or tofu and featuring carrots, almonds, mandarin oranges, currants, Chinese noodles, Arcadian mix and spinach; and the Washington State with spring mix, apples, walnuts, beets, bleu cheese and grilled chicken. Each offers a choice of a house-made dressing and can be customized to taste.

Guests who want to “build their own” can choose from a wide variety of fresh elements, house-made dressings and range of proteins – all marinated and grilled in-house – including grilled flank steak, grilled chicken, fried chicken, roasted turkey and tofu. .

Bread Zeppelin joins a roster of future CityPlace eateries including Island Grill and Common Bond, soon-to-open Star Cinema Grill, a 10-screen, dine-in movie theater, plus 24 Hour Fitness, arriving in late 2019.
